Bush told us about how important it was to go to war in Iraq. Bush appointed Michael Chertoff to head Homeland Security and told us we can rely on him. Remember Katrina. Bush appointed Alberto Gonzolez Attorney General and told us he was a good man until he committed perjury before congress and resigned under pressure. Remember Harriet Miers he wanted to appoint to the Supreme Court.
Now he wants us to accept a 700 billion dollar bailout from Henry Paulson another one of his genius appointments. The phrase “conflict of interest” does not begin to cover the deep routes Paulson has to the investment community. Congress needs the council of the best economic minds without conflicts of interest before deciding on the right course of action.
