So, an alcoholic can stop drinking…a drug addict can stopping snorting…a smoke can stop puffing. Bu, what about a person who needs to lose weight? A person who needs to lose weight still needs to eat. If you have ever dieted you know how hard it is to stop eating when you are full or move away from the buffet bar. My love of food means that I cannot control what I eat. Period.

I need to lose about 60+ pounds — an accumulation of “baby weight” gained from three children. I had no morning sickness with any of my children — hello, weight gain in first trimester. I wore my maternity clothes so much that I had to buy a new set when I was pregnant with my third child. I was frequently lectured by my OB for excessive weight gain…not what I wanted to hear. I gave up all diet drinks when pregnant, but replaced the diet drinks with juice and milk, which are high in calories.

So, as I stare at the scale and wonder how I will lose the weight. I also wonder how I will maintain my goal weight once I lose the weight. How will I stop myself from relapsing? A drinker can avoid alcohol by drinking other drinks and channelling his obsessive behaviors towards something else. But what about a dieter. A dieter still has to eat. How do I control what I eat now and when/if I lose the weight?

When I figure this one out I will let you know. In the meantime I will get back to not devouring the apple pie in the fridge…baby steps.

So I recently purchased an iphone from a friend for about $700 because I have T-mobile and cannot get an iPhone the normal way. Regardless, I still loved it and thinks it’s a wonderful invention by Apple.
Unfortunately, about a week ago, Apple released an update that practically destroyed my iPhone–update 2.2. It is set up so that it not only updates iPhone’s firmware, but also the phone’s baseband. So even if I jailbreak it, it still fails to work. Tough luck, huh? After waiting about a week, www.any-network.com released a device similar to turbo sim to unlock again. It sure is a pleasure to know that money can practically solve anything. With a little money, I was able to purchase this device and hopefully save my iphone.

So if any of you are having this problem, please go to that site and purchase your device. But may I suggest you to NOT update your phone to 2.2 if you can wait till a FREE way to unlock your iphone is up.

Again, iphone is amazing but curse Steve Jobs and Apple! They sure got ways to screw people up!

I was surfing the net, looking for something to catch my eye in this San Diego city I just became familiar with 3 weeks ago and came pass this post. Complain, vent or just say what is on your mind on this site, hey why not? I have always wrote down my thoughts and sometimes expressed them to people verbally so why not here? Why not let people hear my thoughts on today’s entertainment and society in the world? Let them know how I feel, a look into my mind. How would they react when I say that hip hop is increasing dying with artists like soulja boy and lil wayne, and how people with actual talent get denied while Paris Hilton makes movies and albums. Seriously what is the entertainment industry coming to? I remember when you had to work your ass off to be famous and now all you have to do is promote violence and show off your tits! Britney spears is getting more notice from her personal life then her music, which both might I add are going down the drain. Everyone’s seems to be interested in celebrities personal lives then their actual talent. We rather know and talk about what kind of drugs they take and what kinky sex they participate in then how they prepared for the Oscar nominated performance they gave. Is this what we really succumb to, worrying about others problems and not out own?

I always felt that entertainment in our generation has become dull and recycled. Everyone wants to be famous even when they shouldn’t be and who can blame them? Celebrities became are idols, role models, are Greek god and goddess of the world. We worship these people like they are better than us and expect them not to have any flaws or we will crucify them along with their career. What happened to people having privacy, having the option to live their lives peacefully? What happen to people having dreams and goals of doing something to help mankind and striving to change the world? They have been replaced with artificial talent and “wanna be” artist only out to get rich quick. Nobody seems to care about their fellow neighbors unless they can help them achieve their wants and needs. I come to realize that we are living in a dog eat dog world and it is not going to get better unless we stop this charade of we are just adapting with the times.

It seems that what’s important in today’s culture is far different from when I was growing up. Sure everyone wants to have money, be secure and stable but the means of going about it vast in comparison. I remember wanting to be a doctor or lawyer growing up, someone who could contribute. Now a days kids want to be a rappers or actors, someone who is adored by many and has access to anything their hearts desires as they make enormous amounts of dividends easily. But in reality, nothing is ever easy, if you go behind the scenes, just take a peek behind the curtain you will see just how much of their lives are just as complicated as our own.

That’s the message I want to get across, I want to pull the wool from the worlds eyes and open their minds to what we have become. Life shouldn’t be about beating everyone to the top, it should be about helping others and together making a good impression for people to live by. But how can that be when we have everyone wanting to be a leader and no followers? We are not in balanced, we have left behind what really makes gods and goddesses, our decisions to be creative and unique in everything we do. Everyone is not meant to be on the silver screen, just face it, even if it’s a desire of yours. Yes you might think you got what it takes but if there is no talent, real passion or drive then it is pointless. You need to figure out what makes you stand out, what makes you you? We all are here for a purpose and that’s what we need to find in order restore the balance. Find what makes you the needle in the haystack. Mine is writing, what’s yours?

Good Choice?

A good society is one that is thriving, sustainable and has a set of values its people believe and strongly adhere to. A good society is not just whether it is capitalist or communist or socialist. A good society weaves into its plan of action any policies that are bound to make it grow and it is vital to mention that such policies should not be at the detriment of another society or groups of persons. If any such policies endanger any particular group of people and threaten their existence, then such a policy may enjoy life briefly, but may in the long run ruin all the benefits achieved. The policies of a good society have to be supported and respected by the majority of all the main groups that make up the society.

In recent times, good policies have either been abandoned or thrown away because someone or some groups of people labeled them as communist or socialist or capitalist. A program is bad because it is intrinsically bad and retards progress, but not because it is associated with any ideology. What will strengthen the rich, strengthen the poor, strengthen the middle class and make each group to be more innovative makes a society better.

The wealthy, the poor and the middle class of any nation are an asset to that nation. A good society does the best it can to harness the energy of all these different groups of people to make it wealthier and stronger. What a good society does not do is try to stealthily enact policies to limit anyone beyond their will to remain stagnant in their class. Such policies only serve as breeding grounds for frustration and failure in the whole societal structure. It inadvertently creates animosity between different classes that leads to hatred and hence violent activities.

A good society does not try to create a level plane for everything for everyone. A good society creates a level plane for the vital elements (determined by a period in time) for everyone. Today, the vital elements could be education and health. A good education for everyone means stimulated creativity, a widening of peoples ability to develop leading to an increase in productivity and a significant decrease in covert activities and crimes. A good health care takes away the burden of affording for basic health treatment from people who just can not pay for it. If the wealthy can afford for health care, but the middle class and the poor can not, then there will be a gradual decline in innovation, productivity and a decline in an efficient and effective workforce.

Some nations have been slow to grow not because of their inability to think up good policies, but because of their willingness to stoop for the now ideas which are often shortsighted. A good policy is not based on false premises, not on prejudices, but on the need for a better and stronger society.

All too often, decisions and policies purported to have been crafted for the interest of all have the hidden tenets of prejudice, selfishness and greed. No society ever profits on prejudice, selfishness and greed. Any progress allegedly on prejudice, selfishness or greed makes one group of people better and another worse. The disadvantaged group goes away to amass forces and comes back fighting to get the same benefits or seeks to ensure no progress is made in any group at all. This is the indubitable truth of reality.

I inadvertantly lost my Jacket so I just grabbed the curtains from my hotel room

I inadvertantly lost my Jacket so I just grabbed the curtains from my hotel room

For anyone who is smart enough to not pay attention to the News, The Media or the current economic crisismeltdownexplosionbubblerecessiondepression this sharply dressed amigo up there is Henry Paulson the current Secretary of the Treasury…side bar: you think he aspired to be a secretary as a child?…and he is currently the man in charge of doling out the $700 billion that Congress initially approved for the rescue measures which he is fully engrossed in as we speak…or type. My first thought when I saw this picture was “Are those curtains that he’s wearing” and then my second thought was “man I really wanna have sex with all the female morning anchors on MSNBC…at the same time”…it was early in the morning and I had a viscous case of morningwood. Ok then, moving on…As I was watching the morning coverage on the recent developments and plans for the rescue funds I heard about another $800 million that the Fed was going to commit to the effort…here’s a blurb:

WASHINGTON - Rolling out powerful new weapons against the financial meltdown, the Bush administration and the Federal Reserve pledged $800 billion Tuesday to blast through blockades on credit cards, auto loans, mortgages and other borrowing. Total bailout commitments, loans and pledges of backing neared a staggering $7 trillion.
Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, who has been criticized for constantly revising the original $700 billion rescue program, said the administration was considering even more changes in its final two months in office.

Maybe I suck at math, actually I do suck at math, but wouldn’t 800 billion plus 700 billion equal 1.5 trillion? Or is it 15 trillion? I honestly don’t know because I don’t have calculator that allows that many numbers on it…the best I can do is 80 million and then the thing starts smoking. But poor math aside, I got to wondering….where the f**k is all of that money actually coming from? Let’s say for example that one of the people or institutions we had to give this money to wanted it in cash, could they produce that many hundred dollar bills? does that many bills actually exist or are they just flat out making up numbers and pretending to give these institutions this money and all they are really getting is a slip of paper with a big number on it…again, I’m not toting around one of the brightest financial minds in this handsome skull of mine…it’s finely shaped if you must know…so it all seems kinda crazy to me for them to just announce we have 15 trillion dollars and plan to use it all in the next 60 days. Could I just do that? could I just call my mortgage company and say…”here’s the deal, I am as we speak writing you a check for the amount of my full mortgage balance, and I’m even going to fatten the check up a bit for your troubles, why don’t you go on and buy yourself something nice with it” and then when it bounces I can just say “but wait, I thought that you guys were getting like trillions of dollars how can my 600 large not be covered in that figure?” would that work? you know what? I’m gonna give it a try, at this point what the f**k do I have to lose right?

Another thing I was thinking this morning as I was seeing some video coverage of the freshly shorn Mr. Paulson was that a few months ago this guy got up in front of Congress, and I watched his speech, and pretty much was as calm and collected as could be…I remember thinking “this guy is like the financial Clint Eastwood” they were grilling him more than a suspected murderer and he was handling it all with such ease and confidence and then I see him on the news this morning and all of a sudden the dude is like Jerry Lewis, he’s fumbling his words, he’s giving away money to people with absolutely zero recourse or oversight…see: Citibank $400 million dollar naming rights deal for Shea Stadium…I just had a bad flashback of the 1986 World Series, god I hate those, when will they stop?…So what the hell happened to this guy? he wants the money and he’s Clint Eastwood, he gets the Money and he’s Jerry Lewis from the Nutty Professor (not the Eddie Murphy one retards)…and for the love of god why the f**k is he wearing those goddam curtains?????

The Sharks Are Feeding Off The Bailout with FHA Backed Loans

History repeats itself and will cost taxpayers billions of dollars!

A Century from today, the perception of electing the first black man to the US presidency will be called the early man’s history. The historians, as they recount our history, will be quick to point to their students how the early men scuffled over insignificant things. It will be played over in social gatherings and filled with interjections to elicit laughter.

The historians will say, “Our civilization was built from theirs, but we take pleasure for not having to go through that kind of irrationality and infighting that impedes progress. Their history is primitive because they were too slow to learn from the past. They considered things that were insignificant history; the first woman to become president, the first black man to become president, the first black person to go into a house painted white on Pennsylvania Avenue enraged others and so on. Their natural differences had blinded them not to see what was for their universal good. Their blindness made them fight each other and erroneously believed fighting was progress itself. Even though they saw the potential of building their society and making it more prosperous, they were too reluctant to increase their pace because of the prejudices and animosities they harbored”.

As time changes, they are the ones who will remain stuck in the past and need a boot to eject them and they are the ones who will slowly progress with the changing times. In a rapidly changing world, our progress should no longer be measured by a movement from point A to B, but by how quickly we realize the benefit from moving from A to B in as short a time as possible.

Primitive communities have remained largely primitive because of their reluctance to challenge their stagnation and their willingness to gloat on the past. They trail because they have endorsed the belief that progress is progress; it does not have to come fast. They have since lagged behind and falsely taken consolation in the thought that no matter how fast they try, change inevitably comes slowly.

Obama’s election definitely and psychologically empowers some groups of people who might have been lost in the American dream, or felt it was far-fetched. However, just how long some will remain moaning at their loss and others entranced by their victory for varied reasons will be a true measure of a civilized progress.

For one group of people, history is a stepping stone and a springboard for better things. For another group, history has inevitably become the main impediment to progress. Nothing, but the choices we make now decides which group we will be a part of.

It is our history. Only we can shape it, and should we strive beyond our imaginary boundaries and delusional prejudices our success would be boundless. It is the effort to know what we do not know, the effort to realize our prejudices and the effort to be better that is our only liberation. Then our history will not be told with interjections in social gatherings to evoke laughter, but remembered and emulated for how quickly we were able to learn our hindrances and forged for a better future.

Im Mistah Heat Misah, ImMistah Suuunnn...

Here’s a local San Diego story (link here: http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/metro/20081122-9999-1n22firepit.html ) that blows my f**king mind:

Fire Pits Latest To Go On City’s Chopping Block
Removing beach squares would save $173,000 a year

For those of you reading this who aren’t in San Diego and have no idea what the f**k that means I will attempt to explain a bit. On the beaches in San Diego there are these 4 X 4 concrete pits strewn along the beach where people can toss some wood in and then light a small bonfire as the sun goes down to hang out and do whatever it is you feel like doing around a fire…and apparently these fire pits cost the City of San Diego $173,000 a year to maintain. Read that again please…$173,000 f**king dollars to maintain a bunch of 4 X 4 squares of concrete that is never filled with anything more than ashes. In the article it lists 186 total fire pits in San Diego, and with my excellent math skills comes to just under a thousand dollars per year for each pit to be maintained. What the f**k are they doing to these things that could possibly cost anywhere near that amount of money? As I see it here’s the requirements to complete this cleaning task:

1 Man

1 Shovel

1 Metal Barrel

1 Truck

So, assuming the Truck costs $30,000, the Barrel $20, the Shovel $20 that would leave $142, 960 left over for the salary of the 1 man that would be required to clean these pits on a daily basis…I honestly had no idea that this job paid so well, had I f**king known that I would have applied for this shit years ago…Is it just me or has the Mayor of San Diego inadvertently just informed the public that they have been essentially embezzling $173,000 of tax payer money for god knows how long? It’s like he’s Adam West the mayor of Quahog and he just spent the entire City budget for a solid gold statue of Dig’ em the Sugar Smacks Frog…well played sir, well played.

Kanye West is a comlete and utter douche…there, I said it.  But really was anyone else on the planet unsure of that fact other than Kanye himself? I can’t imagine that to be so.  This post is probably like 4-5 years behind what would be considered ‘good timing’ but I don’t give a damn, I just heard that this asshat won a couple awards last night at some useless award ceremony and it got me to thinking.  Isn’t he the loser that cries and whines anytime he doesn’t win an award at one of these shows? that was rhetorical, I know that he is, or I wouldn’t be typing this.  Here’s the point: remember NWA? Public Enemy? Eric B and Rakim? you know, the original artists that helped to shape the face of what’s considered Hip Hop today and didn’t give two shits if they won any awards becuase they were bad asses with a message and hated everyone…god I miss them, and I’m not even black.   Do you think that Chuck D or Dr. Dre would have ever in a million years actually shed a freakin tear because they didn’t win “New Artist of the Year” or some shit like that? no, they most certainly would not, at most they would have either shot, stabbed or beaten someone not stamped their feet like a 12 year old girl who ain’t gettin her way.  Kanye West is a loser and a cry baby and the last thing he is is “Hip Hop”…he’s so far removed from what hip hop is that he might as well be white…

If I was the person that decided who should win the awards at any award ceremony where Kanye was nominated I would just let him win, but when I gave the little card that the presenter reads off I would make sure that they knew enough to read off exactly what was on the card…”and the winner is….Kanye West, the real winner would have been someone who was possibly more deserving but I just can’t stand to hear a grown man cry into a microphone like my 6 year old neice when she falls down so we just gave him the award…congratulations”

50 cent was shot nine times, Suge Knight kills people (and occassionaly gets knocked out, but still kills people), Tupac and Biggie took bullets, Professor Griff slapped the piss out of the crackas from Third Base just because…and yet Kanye gets upset if he doesn’t win an award…sniff sniff …eat piss loser.
