I have no problem with God, no matter what name he/she goes by. Its his/hers followers that give me a pain in the ass!!

OK, something has been bothering me. I’ve seen it all over the news here in Philly, and from a bunch of my FaceBook friends. It ticks me off, and I need to vent.

Lately, it seems the ability to spell certain words has gone by the wayside. Now, I’m not saying it’s an indictment of the current public school system, ‘cause that’s far too easy of a target. There has been a very conscious effort on the part of the media to deliberately misspell words. And I declare it’s time to stop.

I don’t know why I’m such a stickler for spelling. Maybe it’s because I fancy myself a writer. Maybe it’s because any motard can use SpellCheck. Maybe it’s because the one word I seem to misspell the most is ,ironically enough, ‘learn’. Maybe it’s because I was the 6th grade spelling champ. (Yea, take that, Timmy Craig. What gas station are you working at now? And are they hiring?) It’s making my city look bad, and it needs to stop.

It’s spelled ‘fever’. There is no ph.

It’s spelled ‘fun’. There is no ph.

It’s spelled ‘fucking’. There is no ph.

It’s spelled ‘fanatic’. There is no ph. Unless you are talking about the Phille Phanatic. OK, I’ll give you that one. He’s my favorite player. Ooh, there’s another one.

It’s spelled ‘favorite’. There is no ph.

It’s spelled ‘fan’. There is no ph.

It’s spelled ‘finally’. There is no ph.

I think you get my point. When I turn on the news, and see a glaring headline like “Phillies Phever”, I can’t help but feel like a motard. Enouph is enouph. Using ’ph’ makes you look like you are a 8 year old girl with a crush. Are the ‘i’s in Phillies dotted with little pink hearts? I can’t help but cringe when I see men, grown men, with wives and kids and jobs spelling ‘fan’ as ‘phan’. Honestly put, the behavior is rather ‘phay’. Besides, that poor guy who works down at the China Garden is getting all paranoid because everyone else is wearing his name on their shirts. My wall on FB is littered with such atrocities. (And, yes, I sound phay bitching about my FB wall.)

Look, I am not actively rooting against the Phils. I actually hope they win. I think it would be great for the city, great for the fans and great for morale. Plus, I absolutely love watching sports fans doing stupid things when their team wins the championship. Fighting, rowdiness, drunken mayhem, general destruction. I’m not ragging on Philly here, it happens in every town. I just don’t know whose fans are more obnoxious; Philly’s or New York’s. Yea, I’ll pull for the Phils here. But it won’t be enough tonight to take me away from my usual Wednesday night routine of Ghost Hunters, The Ultimate Fighter, then crawling up into a ball and crying myself to sleep. But I might tune in between commercials.

Yes, its my fault and I shamefully admit it. I don’t know all the major players in Washington, I should but there’s just too many, in front and behind the scenes, to keep track of. The ones I do know, like my state Senators and Representatives, just don’t have the juice to get anything done, or have the time to listen to the average American. So like a blind idiot, I sit in front of the TV during the evening news and shout insults to the talking heads. I rant and rave my dissatisfaction and in the end, all that’s happened is my blood pressure has risen dangerously. I’ve often given thought to the situation, I know, bad for the mental health and wondered just what I, just one senior citizen, can do about it.

In another post, I stated that we’re a non-issue because we don’t contribute enough money to political campaigns for these blowhards to get reelected. I still fell that way but thinking in a different direction, I have to ask why should we, after all, they work for us, draw their paycheck from the public treasury, have benefits the rest of us can only dream about and have a Colgate smile. I wouldn’t care if they had wooden teeth like George Washington if only they would do their jobs, represent us and not big business and special interests. We all know that is not going to happen because they know where their extra money comes from and it isn’t the little guys like you and me. Can anyone name even one politician who DID NOT become a millionaire while in office? I can’t and it sickens me.

Even those voted out of office continue to make money at our expenses, they are called lobbyists, the scum sucking, bottom feeding, lower than whale sh*t form of useless life form. Example, Karl Rove and Dick Cheney. We all remember our former vice president who continued drawing a salary from Haliburton while steering no-bid government contracts their way, but did nothing wrong, so he claims. If you believe that, I have some prime beachfront property to sell you east of Denver. Haliburton’s contract to build housing for our GIs has resulted in numerous deaths by electrocution, faulty grounding of electrical systems. But they did nothing wrong. You won’t read anything about that in the news now, its been buried.

Now we have our government trying to shove their version of health care reform down our throats while extolling its virtues, as if it had any. If I’m reading the bill correctly, and I have read it, unlike our Congressmen/women, it was written by the health care industry in cooperation with the pharmaceutical companies, designed to maximize profits at the expense of the American taxpayer. And we’re supposed to fell good about it. That is bad enough but now there are rumors floating around that there will be another round of bailout funding for those who missed out the first time, that doesn’t include those of us who would need it the most. President Obama has in his first nine months in office, driven the United States to a new record federal deficit, $1.4 trillion, with a capital T, trillion and he still has three years and three months to go. I shudder as to what he’s capable of in those three years.

Yes, I’m writing my Congressman, I know who he is now, and telling him that I don’t suport the current policies of spend, spend, spend. It has to end and let the market sort itself out. If AIG, Bank of America, Chrysler or insurance companies can’t compete, then the American taxpayer shouldn’t bail them out, There is no such thing as “too big to fail.”

You know every time I pick up a newspaper or hell even go on here someone is complaining about the economy and or the national debt which is a ridicules 1.43 trillion thank you Obama. People on both sides wonder how in the hell are we ever going to pay this back. Well Warcorpse is here with the perfect solution but some of you especially conservatives might not like it. Still the economy and the debt could be fixed by legalizing three little things

1 MarijuanaFirst off I have no idea why in the hell this is illegal in the first place. I don’t smoke it myself but I don’t see why the people that do have to live in fear of enjoying something that is far less dangerous than cigarettes. Most of the people that say this should remain illegal base their opinion on  a movie called Reefer Madness showing how weed is basically like LSD something that has been proven wrong time and time again. People who smoke marijuana don’t go into violent rages or have a hallucinogenic reactions unless it’s been laced with something else. And you wouldn’t get laced shit IF IT WERE FUCKING LEGALIZED! So here’s a thought legalize something that’s less addictive and less destructive than booze and guess what you got yourself BILLIONS of dollars in new tax revenue.

Prostitution. Yes I said it legalize the worlds oldest profession and hell you might create Trillions of dollars in new tax revenue. And there’s a million GOOD reasons why it should be legal. 1 It’s MUCH safer for the girls or guys that do this job. 2 It can be regulated so that minors aren’t involved and that the risk of STD’s goes way down. 3 All the crime that goes along with it goes away and you lower the cost of running the courts that deal with bullshit cases like this. 4 It’s been legal in America far longer than it’s been criminalized. Now the reason it’s criminalized is because of some people’s morale values and religious belief. Most of these people feel the need to ram their values down other people’s throats and to make sure everyone else lives the life they want. Hey I thought this was America and if I want to go to a cat house who in the hell are you to tell me that I can’t. We have freedom of religion in this country why in the hell are other people’s morale values interfering with my life.

3 Gambling With the advent of the Internet and current opinions this is just fucking stupid that this remain illegal. Once again billions of dollars could be generated. Most states have Indian casinos anyway so there already there and guess what America hasn’t ended now has it. I’m not even going to prove my point this time go to the PPA’s website and read their material

Well there you go 3 simple things that don’t hurt anyone else. Activities that are for adults only so don’t give me the save the fucking children rant. They won’t cause the downfall of mankind and you know what if you don’t want to partake in them then DON’T. But just because you are opposed to it you don’t have the right to tell other people they can’t participate in the three activities. And guess what you would have a shitload of new revenue to pay the national debt and maybe save social security

I am just one of millions of Americans barely surviving on a single income. I am retired, collecting Social Security, have my unemployed daughter and her two kids (6 and 4) living with me, not by choice but out of necessity, they simply had nowhere else to go. In the past year, my daughter has sent out hundreds of resumes and go on as many job interviews without success. I can’t fault her for not trying, she does but the jobs just aren’t there. I’ve applied for numerous jobs but who wants to hire a 65 year old man? Right, no one, I’m past my prime and set in my ways but I’ve heard that you can teach an old dog new tricks and I’m willing but employers aren’t.

For the past year, I’ve managed to shuffle bills around and still pay them all but now I’ve come to a cross roads where bills add up to more than I have coming in. Right now I have $400 sitting in my checking account, $750 worth of bills staring at me, two weeks before I have a small pension hit my account, the frig is empty, the grand kids are hungry, they have activities at school and in Cub Scouts, my car needs gas and I’m out of coffee. Which comes first? I’m sure millions of Americans are facing that same dilemma, scratching their heads and screaming in frustration. And, as many have already done, considered suicide as a way out. Yes, numerous families have committed mass suicide, wife, kids and father, all gone in the blink of an eye. Its tragic and avoidable

The national debt is now $1.43 trillion, with a capital T, after billions went to AIG, banks, mortgage companies, car manufacturers and the health car industry, supposedly as a way to create jobs but he says give it time to work. It hasn’t happened yet. If I can believe the rumors circulating in the papers, there is another round of bailout funds in the offering but not one program going to help the truly needy because our good President Obama needs to prop up his buddies in big business first, give them their multi-million dollar bonuses and salaries before helping the American people. Obama has made the United States a debtor nation, all under the guise of helping our economy.

My back is against the wall, I’m caught between a rock and a hard place, at my wits end and I can see no way out of my situation in the foreseeable future. What am I to do? What do I tell my grand kids when their hungry and there’s nothing to eat? I’m numb from trying to explain my situation to the bill collectors, who call every day, and all I get in answer is, “Pay your f**king bills.” Won’t matter much longer for I can’t pay my phone bill either. Eating the business end of my shotgun is looking better and better every day, the only reason I don’t is my grand kids and how it would be explained to them. They are too young to have to live with that. So I will continue searching for a way out of my situation and pray that millions of others in like situations can also. Anyone for Powerball?

Call me crazy but I think $1.43 trillion is a lot of money and that is exactly the amount the federal deficit has reached. I have a tough time imagining a couple of thousand dollars, much less a number with twelve zeros in it. Just think nine years ago, then President Clinton left office with a budget surplus but it only took King Bush less than a year to wipe that out and start adding the red. Now we have a crazy African-American who just keep adding to it while paying off his campaign promises, needless to say, the American voter isn’t on that IOU list. First he bailed out AIG, then other insurance companies, then the banks and finally the auto makers while flipping Americans the bird and lying through his white teeth.

Now he wants to reward the health insurance industry and pharmaceutical companies, all noble ideas, if his proposed programs benefited the American public, which it won’t. I just don’t cotton to the idea that we’ll be giving free medical services to undocumented workers (read that as illegal immigrants). Talk about opening the flood gates, that alone will do it. Under his proposed program, each American family would be required to purchase health insurance or face a hefty fine at tax time. Now how fair is that? Of course our elected representatives would be immune from this requirement, as we’re already paying for their excellent coverage. I don’t know about anyone else but I can’t afford health insurance, I’m living on a fixed income and supporting my daughter and her two kids as it is, she’s been out of work for a year the job prospects don’t look good. That doesn’t leave any money left for such luxuries as health insurance.

There are so many government mandated “must haves” that littler money is left. The state of Colorado mandates car insurance, a law that the insurance companies jumped on like a frog on a June bug. Jack the prices out of sight because the average driver can’t complain. Look closely at your utility bill (gas, electric, phone, internet, etc) and count up all the little charges that’s tacked on. They add up in a hurry. To date, our local utility company, Xcel Energy, has shut off power to more than 38,000 customers for non-payment and winter is coming on. I under stand that its even worse in the mid-northern states. Do they care? you bet they don’t.

So, yes, I’m going crazy trying to keep my head above water, to survive from one week to the next, scratching my head bald figuring out where the money is going to come from. As so many people have done so far, I’m thinking about just ending it all and let the state bury me. Serves them right.
