It has been a while since I logged in and gave my thoughts about the condition of the United States. Its time to set the record straight.

Obama is pushing through his health care bill, convinced that he is the only one who knows what is best for the people. Little does he realize is that the American people have seen through his bombastic rhetoric and that this bill is all about the health insurance companies, not the American people. He has resorted to strong arm tactics, threats against those opposed to it and political slight of hand in order to get his way. He has forgotten that he was hired by the American people to do a job and that its a temp job at that. He has forgotten who he works for and how he was elected in the first place. By all accounts, he took less than six months to break most of his campaign promises and has ignored the will of the people. He continues to do so on a daily basis without regard for anyone.

The Catholic Church is in the midst of another sex scandal, this time right in the Vatican itself. Numerous Vatican officials have have been busted by Rome police for soliciting, recruiting and, according to news reports, operating a gay sex ring. Just how will this affect the millions of Catholics worldwide? Hopefully they’ll realize that the Catholic Church is just like any other religion, a for profit organization. In the United States they try to influence elections on both national and local levels, preaching from the pulpit just who the congregation should support. This alone is enough for them to lose their tax exempt status but politicians are afraid of making the first move. The Catholic Church is the largest in the world, only trailing Islam by a few million members, with billions of dollars in real estate. If that property was taxed, just how much money would be put into the economy? Its their way or the freeway; what kind of religion puts that kind of restraints on its members?

Millions of protesters braved adverse weather conditions nationwide to carry signs against abortion, same sex marriages, cruelty to animals, genetically altered crops, nuclear energy, trying to put a sand flea on the endangered species list or the strong arm tactics of the IRS. They protest against Columbus day, immigration, corrupt politicians, corrupt cops, legalizing marijuana, eating meat, crop circles, alien invasions, domestic spying, high credit card interest rates, all powerful banks, high unemployment and whatever else they can think of. What 99.99% of them don’t realize is that protesting never changed anything, nothing. Remember the Vietnam war and all the protests? They didn’t help end the war but did embolden the enemy and create a new breed of draft dodger.

There has been calls for a nationwide work stoppage, just don’t go to work for a day and bring the economy to a screeching halt. Ain’t gonna happen, folks. The ones it would be targeting are immune to such things simple because they’ll still collect their paycheck while you don’t. That should be a no-brainer.

Start a civil war? Well, that’s on its way as we speak, headed by state militia manned with disgruntled people just wanting to make a difference. It won’t be pretty when it happens, pitting ordinary citizens against the state and National Guard units. But will they actively engage citizen armys or hold their fire? That decision is up the individual and probably be surprising to those in command.

I have many other subjects to touch on but I’ll leave them for another day.

You know for the first time in my life I think that I’m actually floored. On PBS around here they had a 2 hour special on how the world WILL NOT END! in 2012! They spent how much money to reassure people of something I could have told them for a dollar, fifty!

The 2012 hysteria started with a station that I used to love and now almost loathe the History Channel. They had one almost every month for a few years Docu-Dramas about the end of the world in 2012. Now what you ask your old pal Warcorpse is a docu-drama. Well unlike a documentary which films the facts regardless of the outcome and tries to be fair and impartial. Something that Michale Moore should learn if he wants to keep calling himself a documentary film maker.

Now a docu-Drama is a little diffrent it will report facts BUT will over look some other rather large facts for the purpose of entertainment and shock value. I find that the History Channel in paticular is going more and more with Docu-Dramas. Isn’t that funny from a channel that’s supposed to teach me about history? Last time I checked history dosen’t change because it’s already done.

Well onto the Mayan 2012 bullshit. Had most people even gone to wikipedia they would have found out that the Mayans didn’t have just one calender they had about seven or eleven I can’t remember which. These calenders are circular meaning they repeat and they range in length from a half a day to a few centuries. The big one the one we’re coming up on is due to eclipse in 2012 something it does once every 5,162, years (that number is what I remember so if it’s wrong don’t bother pointing that out) So the big calender will start all over again. 

Let me illustrate another way take the Christian calender in that calender it will never be November 19 2009 again will it. However in the Mayan calender it will be November 19 2009 again once it reaches that point in its rotation AGAIN! And by the way we were already on the earth the last time this thing eclipsed we were building the pyramids so we had been around for a long long time the last time it happened.

One last note on the end of the world dates.  James Randi has compiled a list of dates the world was supposed to end guess how many misses ALOT! Plus to further put your mind at ease the great builders of the pyramids had their own end of the world date scrawled in the great pyramid of Giza guess when that is! drum roll………….. 1984!!!!! Well we made it through that one and we’ll make it through this one to.

So don’t rack up the credit card bills to high becuase we’re all going to be around for a long, long time.

Sadly, today this means nothing to the elected officials governing our once great country. No it didn’t start sliding downhill when the Novelty Obama-nation uttered the statement, “We live in the greatest country in the world; help me change it, but that non hacker sure as fuck hasn’t HELPED things out a whole lot has he?

Motherfuckers (and father fuckers for you ladies who feel left out when I say it) Are lining up to defend this shitbird with statements like “No one can expect him to deliver on all of his campaign promises”. Then WHY the FUCK was he elected by a majority vote? If it doen’t matter what they say, why aren’t we picking a President’s name out of a fucking Fez? (Yeah a turban would just be a freaking hand towel with a bunch of clumps of paper inside it wouldn’t it?)

I’m getting off track here. HEALTH CARE for ALL should be FOR all not just one for us and one for them. I’f I’m having their shit crammed down my throat then at least tell me that they are getting the same lack of condiments that I am. REGULATIONS and REFORM are what the current System needs and not a Socialist, Eastern Block replacement for it.

While we’re at it, lets think about this. Nancy Pelosi and the fucking DNC is all over this shit about Leveling out the WEALTH of the nation. Lets call this what it REALLY is. They want You and I to be in the poorest 85% of the nation so THEY can be in the RICHEST 15% (if they will allow that many people to be as “privileged” as they are for being good enough to get you fucking moronic, mouth breathing masses to vote them into office.

“From Each According to His Abilities and To Each According to His Needs” is the mantra that these fuckaholics are chanting and the Public is chewing that up like it is a NEW concept. Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov brought forth REFORM via these means in a little place that used to be called Russia with these EXACT words.

The FIRST thing that these radicals who wish to infringe upon OUR Inalienable Rights do is to take away the guns of the people that they wish to enslave.

Our Wages and Income are being attacked, we are being led like lambs to the slaughter and the apathy and brainwashing that our leaders MUST be right just because they hold that position is sickening.

We are soon going to need a Revolution to get the Government out of our wallets, schools, and privacy of our own bedrooms because the MASSES can no longer think for themselves or ask the simple questions and react to the answers that are given to them rather than just going with the flow.

I can no longer sit idly by and watch the destruction of the greatest nation in the world. Who has the guts to speak out with me?

It’s been a while since I’ve been here to spread my insights of great ponderence, but this made me take pause and write.  So, a potentially racist situation goes down that results in a man’s arrest and Barack Obama immediately comes to the defense of his friend…Yale Professor of African Studies, Henry Louis Gates in the midst of the frey.

It has been an unnecessary crap storm if you will, that Obama has backed himself into regarding this incident having not been availed of the proper facts.  I’ve heard it said that there were mostly egos involved that got out of hand.  It is more a case of ONE ego, that of Professor Gates.  As the police reports have stated, Gates became belligerent the moment the white officer (there was also a black and Hispanic officer on the scene, as well) began asking routine questions that one would ask on a B&E (breaking and entering) call (i.e. Is there anyone else in the house? May we look around?, etc.).  These are all standard procedure for a call of this nature.  However, the YALE professor felt it beneath him to be questioned in any manner regarding suspicion of any kind. The “educated” and I believe correct response would have been…”Thank you for coming to my home when called in regard to something this serious. Certainly, you may check around. I’m happy to do whatever I can to help rectify any misunderstanding by the neighbor as well as the police department. In fact, I probably should thank the neighbor for his conscientiousness, as well.”

Instead, he was most likely irritable when the officers arrived, having been absent minded enough to lock himself out of his home. That disgruntled attitude (coupled with a predisposition toward racism as an African Studies Prof.) then manifest itself in the form of indignant arrogance toward an innocent officer who was simply trying to do his job.  In order for this to be even remotely considered racial profiling, Gates would have to have been randomly stopped.  This was a B&E call, plain and simple.  When the officer asked for Gates’ ID, he went ballistic prior to complying with the officer’s request. Then the officer was satisfied and began to leave with the other officers and Gates continued to berate and malign the officer all the way to the front door with racial epithets. The officer warned him to let it go and asked him to stand down.  Gates refused and the officer took out his cuffs and warned him a last time.  Gates, was relentless and as a result was arrested.  The only reason that the charges were dropped, in my opinion, is because not only was race introduced (by Gates) but also, because he is a high profile individual. It’s bad press for the department any way you look at it and the higher ups don’t need Obama’s camp looking down at their fair city.  They had no choice, even though it would have been a simple misdemeanor.

Adding insult to injury, Obama proceeded to call the officer “stupid” without having read even so much as a newsclipping on the incident.  The educated and proper response here, in my opinion, should have been…”I have not read the police report on the incident so, I won’t speculate and will reserve my comments until such time.”  His arrogance wouldn’t let him do that.  Instead, he chose to get out ahead of the situation and make it about defense of a friend over defense of the facts.

In closing, what this said to me is that both Gates and his buddy Barack arrogantly overstated their cases.  It continues to be revealed that Obama has some pretty outspoken friends (Rev. Wright, communist party devotees, etc.).  Being outspoken is not a bad thing in and of itself, mind you.  However, the destructive words of an outspoken person who is not intent on speaking words that teach, heal or inform for the progression and edification of the whole over self…is quite dangerous.  This further indicates to me that birds of a feather flock together. These “friends” of Obama’s that continue to pop up can only cause one to think…Who is the real man beneath the spit and polished President?  Is there an outspoken radical buried someplace deep down in there who thinks that every irresponsible, harsh and divisive situation can be excused and brushed off by simply sitting down and sharing a beer together?  Great idea, until the beer starts talking…then what?  Seriously, though, Obama and other educated black men such as himself have a huge responsibility to speak intelligently to such issues as racism…not perpetuate its destructiveness themsevles by viewing every given incident from a racially-motivate point of view absent of the facts.

The thing is, there’s no president that can do an ounce of good because they have no control. They have to do what the “powers that be” want. It’s just the way it is. It’s nature. The strong bastards rule and they get what they want. Money is the muscle that runs the planet so those assholes that have the most of it, run the world, regardless of how fucked up, immoral, stupid and (make up your own word and put it HERE)  they are.

I may not look it, not fit the profile, but deep within me beats the heart of a rabid football fan. Don’t let my affection for Jane Austen books and goat cheese fool you, I mark time by training camp, preseason, regular season, and off season. After the Superbowl and Pro Bowl, I go into a football withdrawal marked by generalized depression and loss of interest in life in general until the NFL Draft in the spring. And the object of all my affection is the Minnesota Vikings. What can I say, I love not too wisely, but too well.

So today, on May 14, 2009, my soul is on edge. Too melodramatic? Okay, I’m apprehensive. The fate of the famed Williams Wall is on the line in court today and I’m desperately trying to understand why the hell no one thought to organize a candlelight vigil for them last night.

Today the StarCaps saga that started when several NFL players tested positive for bumetanide last summer, is hitting another milestone (a.k.a. the fan) as they argue in a hearing in St. Paul. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that Judge Paul Magnuson rules in favor of the players.

Last season Vikings fans held their collective breath and feared the worst when it came out that Pat and Kevin Williams, our Pro Bowl defensive linemen, tested positive for a banned substance that is associated with masking steroids. The Williams boys and three players from the New Orleans Saints were slapped with a four game suspension by the league and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell preened like he was a bad-ass mamba-jamba, talking about the league’s zero tolerance policy for steroids and related substances. Bumetanide, associated with masking steroids in drug tests, was found in the players’ drug tests and they were guilty.

More than once I found myself whining “Say it ain’t so!” and saw my team’s season swirl down the crapper. The affable, hard-working Williamses were dopers. It was like a veil had been drawn over the sun. But I had underestimated the umbrage and tenacity of the Williams Wall–and just how screwy the whole scandal was. Kevin and Pat Williams were determined to clear their names. Not known for caving under pressure (as anyone who saw their brilliant goal-line stand in their home game against Chicago last year can testify) they felt they were in the right and decided to fight for their reputations. They claimed they took StarCaps to lose weight and had no idea that bumetanide was one of the ingredients. Had they known that the supposedly all-natural StarCaps contained a banned substance they would not have taken them. However, since the league knew and did not tell the players, it was on.

I have gleefully imagined that moment when Roger Goodell, at home reclining in a leather chair and swirling brandy in a Waterford snifter to the strains of Mozart, finds out that the linemen lawyered up and are going to fight their suspension. In my fantasy version of this revelation, Goodell throws the snifter into his fireplace in a fit of rage, and storms around shouting about how they are just big, dumb linemen and who do they think they are coming after him. They’re linemen, they’re supposed to do what I say! However, that is just the work of my overactive imagination. More likely, Goodell had to know this would be messy.

And, so far, it hasn’t disappointed. Shoot, this is the legal equivalent of some good, old-fashioned mud-wrestling. St. Paul judge Paul Magnuson gave the players a temporary injunction that enabled them to finish their season, a season that saw my Vikings on top of their division for the first time in a long time. The Vikings’ success was made possible in large part by a defensive line that was one of the stingiest in the league against the run. Now that the season is over Pat and Kevin Williams are back in court to hash it out and prepare for trial.

Having avidly read about this from the start, I’m really hoping that the NFL gets smacked and it isn’t just because my imagination conjured up a snide Roger Goodell in a smoking jacket as the villan. The NFL knew, KNEW, that StarCaps had bumetanide in them as early as November 2006 despite the fact that bumetanide was not listed anywhere in the ingredients. Dr. Brian Finkle, an NFL toxicologist, discovered the bumetanide present in StarCaps and had toxicologist Dennis Crouch of the University of Utah further test StarCaps for the presence of bumetanide. The findings showed that not only was bumetanide present, it was in concentrations high enough to meet or exceed the prescribed dosage.

This is the part that I found especially interesting—bumetanide is prescribed by doctors to patients with congestive heart failure and renal disease. We’re not talking about a caffeine tablet here, we’re talking about a prescription drug with serious side-effects used to treat life-threatening disease. I realize that I’m not a toxicologist or a physician, but it seems to me that when you discover that a popular weight-loss supplement, claiming to be natural, is spiked with dangerously high levels of a prescription drug, that is the kind of thing that should be made known to players, not in vague, broad, nonspecific language, but specifically and explicitly. Anything less seems like gross negligence with regard to player safety. That’s right, this is a matter of player safety so the league’s bitchy little line about it being the players’ responsibility to know what they were putting in their bodies seems waspish and petty—especially when there was no way for the players to know the supplement contained bumetanide. After all, it isn’t as if bumetanide was on the label, or players who called the league hotline were told not to take StarCaps because they contained bumetanide, or the league made the research they had about StarCaps containing bumetanide available to the players.

So today I’m thinking of Pat and Kevin Williams and I’m admiring just was how gutsy they were to tell the NFL exactly what they could do with that four-game suspension. It would have been so much easier to quietly take a suspension and put this all behind them, but they felt that their reputation was more valuable. Go Pat and Kevin!

Here’s another batch of morons that I can do without

The people that think Walgreen’s is a place to do major shopping. It’s not it’s a fucking conviance store/PHARMACY! It’s a place where sick people go to get prescriptions filled and maybe get some Gatorade. Why is that every time I’m sick I’m always stuck behind some bubble assesd woman who decided to buy 24 margarita glasses. And the cashier is some 90 year old lady that’s taking five minutes to wrap each one even though the fucking things are plastic. Then usually if I’m lucky the customer will pay with a card if not they’ll ask if they can pay with a check even though there at least two signs saying we don’t accept checks! People get your major shopping done at a major store, or at least a store that’s for dishes or whatever. Walgreen’s is a store to run in and grab a few items you forgot but mostly it’s where sick pissed off people go to get mounds of drugs to get them better.

People that pay with a check - Oh my god! do these people piss me off to no end! Do these people not know that checks take for fucking ever to write! For me personally they always screw the hell out of my balance sheet because I’ve waited damn near a month before the check cleared and was taken out of my account. Now paying bills with them is one thing. Personally I don’t know why anyone doesnt do bill pay but if you don’t have a computer. But going to a store and using them irks me to no end! Folks you have this thing called a CHECK CARD!!!!!!!! IT’S A LOT FASTER!!!!!!!!!! Then some of these morons will reply “Well I’m old fashioned and I like my checks” (These old-fashioned people can be like 22 at times)  I scream back “IT’S CALLED PROGRESS! WE USED TO GET AROUND WITH THE HOARSE AND CART BUT WE DON’T DO THAT ANYMORE!”

People that blame McDonald for their massive weight gain. We all know people like this hell might even have a friend like this. They’re overweight and know it’s getting harder for them to do things or the health problems are starting to come around. Do they take personnel responsibility for it and go to the gym or take a walk or hell just eat a fucking salad NO! They end up saying it’s not my fault I can’t fit into a elevator anymore or that I can’t fit into a airplane seat It’s McDonalds, Burger Kings or Wendy’s fault. they usually say this while stuffing a Big Mac in their faces. My question to them is did anyone put a gun to your head and force you to get the three cheeseburgers. NO! I think that they put their hands on the steering wheel, drove to the Golden Arches and ordered the three Big Macs Didn’t they.

There probably will be a part three to this but that’s all I can think of for the moment

On May 1, millions of people all over Europe enjoyed a festive day of traditional merrymaking in celebration of May Day. In the United States, most people missed out on all the fun thanks to our puritanical pilgrims. While May Day had been celebrated in Great Britain for over a thousand years, the American pilgrims discouraged celebrating the event because some traditions focused on ancient fertility rights and paganism. Although the pilgrims created Thanksgiving, when it came to robust celebration of May Day, the pilgrims were a bunch of party poopers. Again and again prudish puritanical influences in this country have put a damper on fun activities and squashed the joy out of life in ways we have never fully recovered from.

With the constant stream of bad economic news, swine flu, political bickering, and lots of other depressing stuff, Americans need to cheer up and just celebrate being alive. Screw the puritans. Stop listening to political bullshit about the economy. It might be too late to celebrate May Day this year but it’s not too late to shake off the blues and dance. It’s time to eat, drink and be merry.

Well is it any wonder that Americans are in the situation we’re in! I’m not at all surprised that every thing’s going down hill. Why because for the most part the average American just does whatever the media tells them to! If the news at six says be afraid of this and then the paper the next day backs it up well then guess what 200 million Americans are now terrified of something that only yesterday posed no threat.

Now let me stop for a moment and say that I love this country and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else and I wouldn’t want to live at any other time either. This is where and when I want to be. That said there is serious problems with the critical thinking in this country I see it all over. Like take the peanut and pistachio scare that happened. Only one or two plants were contaminated with salmonella. The next morning after the almighty box told us to be afraid every American went out and burned every peanut every where. None of them bothered to check that it was less than 10% of the total supply. The same thing happened with the pistachios only this time the terror inspiration that you read with your OJ got that tid bit first. Once again less than 10% of the total supply but  again everyone believed the paper’s gospel and you couldn’t get a pistachio for a month.

Now I’m not attacking the nightly news and I watch it myself and I read the paper everyday. They’re great ways to get info. HOWEVER! they report the facts as they have them or what they can deduce at the time. When you read the paper or watch the news listen for the key phrases We’ll stay with this or more details will follow. I believe the peanut thing ended with We’ll have more as the FDA releases it but only a very small portion is affected. Did anyone hear that or read that and go online for a few more facts that were available. Hell no they didn’t because that would require a little bit of thought on their part. No one questioned what the media told them or even to see if something else had been released about it. They panicked until about six the next night.

That I think is the biggest problem NO one questions what they read or see anymore. If it’s reported by the AP or our local 5 news or if it’s told by a teacher, parent or hell a celebrity it must instantly be true! This isn’t really a surprising result because that’s the way that parents and SCHOOLS! teach children from the earliest stages. If you’re told that everything is fine then everything must be fine. No one’s ever taught to question anything. Then  there are teacher (I’ve had them) that would get pissed with a student if they dared challenge their omnipotent knowledge. I thought that teachers were supposed to challenge students.

Another big problem is people don’t read enough any more and it’s not really any one’s fault again. Because in school reading isn’t taught as a joy it’s taught as a chore and the materiel is the pre-determined master works. I’m sorry Dickens may be considered a master by some but The Tale of Two Cites and The Pipwick Papers SUCKED! It’s the same with any thing wrote by Amy Tan. So for most people reading unfortunately develops into this hated chore that after collage they never do again. So one one bothers to read ALL the evidence and instead goes with a thirty second sound bite.

In the end America wake up learn all the facts on something before you hit the panic button. One last thing generally I’ve found that most of the time when the people on TV tell you that it’s going OK that’s about the time that everything goes to hell.

This post is to all the people that think it’s actually possible to waste water. IT’S NOT! You can waste your life, you can waste food, you can waste your life savings on hookers and gum, you can even waste space but you can’t waste water. No how, no way. Why? because the laws of physics! Matter can not be simply taken out all it can be is changed. Take when a forest burns to the ground. The matter that made up the trees isn’t gone forever just like that. It’s been changed into the simpler compounds it once was in the forms of carbon and nitrogen to name a few. Oh and all the water that was in the tree goes up into the pretty sky to eventually fall back down to earth.

When a person leaves the faucet on or waters their lawn the water that does down the drain or in the storm sewer is not wasted. It goes into great big pipes to a treatment plant that sends it back to all of us. The water that goes into the ground isn’t wasted either. After going into the ground it either comes back up to the surface, finds a underwater vein to grab onto or combines with other minerals to continue life on this planet.

Now maybe in the desert it might be a small problem. But here’s a novel concept MOVE OUT OF THE FUCKING DESERT! Come here to my state of Minnesota. We get flooded every damn year. We use water to clean off our driveways, sidewalks, houses, streets, almost everything else to. Why do we do this because we know that water can’t really be wasted, maybe. More likely it’s because we choose to live in a area that’s HOSPITIPLE to life as we know it! It’s a free country you can live where ever you want. You know the animals move away once the water dries up and the plants die off. Humans on the other hand are the only creatures that stay in a desolate wasteland.

In the end however it’s not possible to waste water it’s not. It violates one of the basic laws of physics and reality. To that end if you are so concerned about water  do what the animals usually do when the water dries up. MOVE!
