You see them everywhere people with signs and bible verse with sayings like Marriage IS one man and one woman, FAMILY IS A MOM AND A DAD and my personal favorite Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve plus all  the other ones these people come up with. Their mission is to stop two people from living their lives together and break up loving families because it’s an abomination of THEIR belief system. Their weapons are arguments like marriage is a sacred ancient institution between ONE man and ONE woman and it’s thousands of years old. That with out traditional families America will fall to ruin and the whole world will come crashing down around our ears. Well I’m hear to tell you the idea of marriage, monogamous marriage, one man one woman is a MAN MADE CROCK OF SHIT!!!

First off lets just deal with the idea of a single partner for the rest of your life. Some of these people would have you believe that one on one marriage is as old as the bible. That it’s a sacred institution formed by God himself. WRONG! Does anyone recall that passage in the bible where God had Adam and Eve stand side by side and say By the power given to me by me I now pronounce you man and wife I really don’t. Would everyone like the idea of monogamous relationships got introduced into Christianity. Let’s take a trip back to the time of Charlemagne. This guy was the shit he did more than anyone else to pull Europe out of the dark ages and get it back on track of science and learning. He was also a Christian and had 4 wives 27 concubines 46 mistresses and a large variety of dairy girls working the land outside of his castle. I mean this guy would put Wilt Chamberland to SHAME! Why could he get away with this that’s because there was NOTHING IN THE BIBLE that you could only have a relationship with one other person. That concept was introduced by Pope Leo a few years after Charlemagne’s death. He said that all coupling will be between one man and one woman. They will be married for life and have no others and that before they couple they will have to be joined in the eyes of the lord and of course this can only be accomplished by paying a fee to your local clergy.

Leviticus Oh yes chapter 22 of Leviticus well I don’t want to debate the bible all that much in this post all I’ll say is this. Did anyone bother to read the rest of Leviticus because you better throw out all of your dress shirts because it tells us in that chapter that you can’t wear cloth of two different threads. Also if you enjoy sweet corn in the summer than you’re going to hell because two different seeds sown together is right up there with man lying with man.

Without both a mother and a father children will grow up wrong and morally bankrupt leading them to a life of crime and sin. Well now isn’t this just silly and once again I can prove it. How many times do you hear, read or see a news story about some parent who did something horrible to their child and predominately guess what their a family with a dad and a mom. And how many times have you heard of a gay and lesbian couple doing that. I can recall ONE instance involving two lesbians beating the shit out of their kid. Now what’s the reason for this statistic well gay and lesbian parents are generally older and have really thought it out with their partner when they either adopt or have kids because there’s really no chance of them having a unwanted or unexpected pregnancy. Plus the rates of the kids raised by same sex parents going gay or lesbo is the exact same as kids raised by straight parents.

Gay marriage will cause divorce REALLY! I don’t know where they got this but divorce is not a new concept. Plus I don’t know what statistics you’re reading but the gay and lesbian community are actually not that large when compared with the rest of the US. I would actually be shocked if they made up more than 1 or 2 percent of the population

I think I’m going to stop here, there might be a part two I don’t really know. I just find it hypocritical that people use a religion that’s basic command is to love and have compassion forEVERYONE. To use that as a platform to deny people the same rights that you enjoy under the law is simply staggering. I mean didn’t Jesus spend his time healing the sick and helping the desperate. Didn’t he also embrace the prostitute Didn’t he embrace everyone no matter what! Here’s a thought READ THE DAMN BOOK BEFORE YOU USE THAT AS AN ARGUMENT!

A little about me is that I was raised with a mom and a dad, they were married a few years before I was born. I have a good relationship with both of them and they’re still together. I am not gay myself honestly I can’t even tell you what attracts women to men. Let alone a man to another man. I CAN tell you why a chick would want to screw another chick. Yet even though I’m straight and both my parents were together for all of my life I can still sit here and say to everyone who says marriage or family is One MAN one WOMAN is shoveling a great big CROCK OF SHIT!!!!

One last thing don’t hold back on comments if you feel that I’m wrong bring on the comments I’ll debate with anyone. If you have a web-cam and want to save time feel free to make a video to me on YouTube my user name there is the same on here

A smile is like a flower in bloom.

Smile

Winter has melted. White is out. Green is in. Roses will be red again. I planted blueberry bushes.

Once again Spring makes new promises and beautifies the landscape with flowers and singing birds. There is much to smile about.

“What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but, scattered along life’s pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.”                                                   -Joseph Addison

No freaking way!

From: http://getactive.peta.org/campaign/seal_hunt_09

All eyes are on Canada as it prepares to host the 2010 Winter Olympics. This extra attention will bring increased scrutiny and comes with the added responsibility of setting a positive example for the world. That’s why we are calling on the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee to help stop the Canadian seal slaughter.

During Canada’s annual war on seals, hundreds of thousands of baby seals are killed for their skin in the most horrific ways imaginable. Seals stand no chance against club-wielding trappers who are after their fur, and they must look on as fellow pups are bludgeoned to death before meeting the same bloody fate.

These seals, many of whom are only weeks old when they’re barbarically killed, have their skulls smashed in or are shot point-blank by hunters who are driven by profit and greed. The anguish that a mother seal feels as she watches her baby being beaten to death just a few feet away from her is horrifying and can be heard in her desperate cries and seen in her attempts to get to her baby.

Last year, more than 205,000 individual seals were killed during the massacre, which is nothing more than a money-making scheme orchestrated by professional fishers, and Canada will soon begin its annual merciless attack on seals for their fur. We need you to speak up for seals now and demand a permanent end to the cruel seal slaughter.

I can’t believe this. Annual??? It’s soo heartless - This is my first time hearing about this and I know most Canadian’s will think that I’ve been living under a rock, but - This is bad. I know that there are crueler and more inhumane things and that other countries do far worst, but this being the first article I read today……Woah!

Let’s start with the basics.

It is always hard to find a great list for animal-cruelty free products. It’s also a pain in the butt to be in a Walgreens at flipping over every bottle to find the little bunny sign proclaiming what it is exactly that you are looking for ( to be sure and positive - the “bunny sign” is a guarantee label that no animal was harmed in the process of making the product.)

I’ve conjured up my own list. Looking through both my make-up boxes and my garbage can (slight resentment about that) and with the help of some really great ones that I will link and of course, Peta.org.

Thank heavens for these Guys:

THE NICE PEOPLE

Cargo

Avon/Mark

Kiss My Face

Shame on these butts (and some of these, I was very loyal to for many years):

I’ve been stressed. You can see it all over my face. Around my lips and on the sides of my nose. I’ve got acne trying to profess to the world that I’m going through some major issues. I can’t even pin point one thing.
It’s more so a bunch of things pent up together.
It is nothing compared to some other people’s issues, but nonetheless, that fact shouldn’t invalidate my emotions.

The past few years of holding things back, being patient, staying quiet. I’m a prisoner in my own life and In this world, I have yet to make myself heard by anyone around me. Even if I was given the moment to speak freely, I wouldn’t know what to say.
I have so much pent up anger, bitterness, and hatred that I feel if I do ever get the chance to have people listen (really listen) to what I have to say, my tongue would cut like razors through their skin.
Sadly, the truth is, no one will ever really listen, instead they’ll just be too busy thinking up the next thing to say as  I speak.
I have been being bombarded with a lot of people, “family”, lately that have been pushing me to do things I don’t want.
These “things” are absolutely inconclusive to my true and desired long term goal; these thing that would only, really, satisfy me instantly and no more.
I’ve come to the part of my life where instant gratification no longer has any effect nor do I have any desire to pursue it.
I want the big picture, the whole burrito.
I don’t want to be pulling mini sized gin bottles from the hotel fridge, I want the damn economy sized Gray Goose from Costco to take home.
Guddamit.
I’m trying to quietly plant seeds for my own success but others come walking into my garden, with a shovel, digging up random holes. Worst of all they look at me as if I am not doing anything with my life, just because I don’t shout every step I take to the rest of the world.
As if I am wasting away because I don’t subject myself to a regular day job, don’t drive a fancy car, don’t like Louis Vuitton, or desire any other cookie cutter corporation lifestyle.

I’m doing a lot. All day, every day, with no breaks.
I’m doing a lot more than I could have ever dreamed.
I have a husband that loves me, a son that I believe is absolutely incredible, and the drive and will to try to do the impossible or at least learn how to live a life that I am content with.
A life with no rules, no schedule, no guidelines to follow.

I don’t need anyone telling me that it’s not gonna happen.
I don’t need anyone trying to crush my dreams.
I don’t want any predictions or prophecies of what may or may not happen and what I should be afraid of.

I already have enough of myself telling me these things.
I’m already up at night until 2 a.m. trying to distract myself from my every fear from failure.

It’s all projection of the same thought. These people that are trying to control what I do are just as clueless and as miserable as the next.
They have lived these sad lives. These stories they tell me of disgusting divorces, abusive relationships, broken dreams, missed opportunities, and their children that have gone the wrong path and that they have lost. This is their life. Not mine.

Just hearing these things makes me realize that I am on a completely different level from them already. I’m already blessed with a head on my shoulder that can decipher that playing a victim is NOT going to get me any help from anywhere or anyone.

I’ve got the tools to put my own sh*t together.
I can create my own world with out anyone else’s help, thank you very much.

Can’t people tell?

I’ve already got this.

New year = New mindset.

I haven’t been around. I’ve neglected and ignored my myspace page for quite sometimes. For good reasons, I might add. I have excuses up the yin-yang, and I am going to explain that all here.

I broke my wrists.

My phone sucks.

I’m kinda busy.

A boring day in December prompted me to walk both our dogs, each about 100 pounds each (well to be specific, Sela is 70 and Rocco is, like, 110 lbs.) by myself - I never walked them alone before, so I bundled me and the tubs up and decided for us to take the poor restless creatures out on a seldom sunny pre-thanksgiving/christmas afternoon walk at the park behind our house.

It turns out I was doing it all wrong. I was walking the dogs in a pretty sadistic fashion. All 180 pounds destroying each of my exterior upper limbs. I had the leashes wrapped around my wrists (instead of my fingers) causing every pull and yank to damage and sprain me. I buckled in pain after Thanksgiving cooking and cleaning and my mom ended up forcing me to go to the ER the day after.I had wrist splints on FOREVER and I also was reprimanded to stay off the internet/computer for weeks. Myspace, being my crack, needed me to be MIA. I internally compromised by checking out some stuff every now and then but avoiding all the other previously frequented sites as often as possible. It’s been painful and lonely but I’ve managed. (wink*)I am no longer in the splints but find myself twisting my wrists al a arthritis exercise every now and then, but I think that I have recuperated enough to write this, and will now be able to continue my wonderful personal avenue of all things that are myspace and such.

My phone also broke. Actually, it was stolen. At JAck in the Box, when I was buying a large Vanilla Iced Coffee, I set it down and it disappeared. Funny, My new one, which seems to be an evidence of my sucker-dome for ebay, is a crappy analog version of a Motorola Slvr and IT SUCKS. looks pretty but I can only call out. I don’t have text. and I can only store like 10 numbers. I know not who calls me, so I’ve learned to ignore my cell due to its disappointing features and only use it for emergency call in and call out.I’m saving up for a new one. which will take like a decade. :(

I’ve also been busy remixing my life. I finally quit my pretty pathetic retail job and decided to begin a new venture.I’ve recently become a freelance writer - a job I so truly love. I have joined the volunteer mania of the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco, YBCA, and the SFMOMA.

After the ridiculous debacle of quitting - God opened me a window..and it was all good.

I’ve weeded out all the things that I have felt obliged to do in the past and have decided to only commit, volunteer, and be active with the people and things that I am most passionate about and I’ve made it a goal to make my life what I want it to be. With out all the negative and super imposing dysfunctional people trying to ruin and make it dysfunctional for me.

The last month, I’ve been buried in books and getting in tune with who I am and what I need to do to make my life what I would like it to be. Before, I often would think, what is wrong with me? or why is this happening? and it’s much more simple. There’s nothing wrong and it’s “happening” because I let it or stress myself because I merely think it’s happening. Drowning my thoughts with worries that either have already happened (which there is nothing I can do about) or might happen. (which, most often never does)

So, new year = new mind set. So far so good. As I’ve learned to humbly let things go and not let anything ANYTHING effect me by taking things too personal or to heavily… much has gotten better. And although there are things beyond my control - like spraining wrists, my father-in-law feeding my son’s beta “Boodle” to the Oscars while we were on vacation, and school work. I can learn to discipline myself and learn to live and work with it all rather than against it. Everything is temporary and it all will one day pass and in reality everything is destined to be just be a distant memory.Nothing is worth making yourself miserable over.

So *Cheers to all for a happy new year.

May it be better than 2008 by a thousand times more and I hope that we all will find the inner peace, friends, and love that is so wonderfully deserved.

If this movie didn’t have the book standing behind it, it would have flopped in the box offices with out a doubt.  I hate to write bad reviews but I think that Hardwicke absolutely did not do any justice to the novel and got away like a bandit with the large gross of money from loyal Twilight fans.

I am honestly happy that they have already decided to make the new director that of “The Golden Compass” and “About a Boy” fame, I have yet to be extremely disappointed with any of Wietz work.

But back to Hardwick’s interpretation of the novel; Some things she got right - for the most part - she did excellent casting with Edward, Alice, and the rest of the Cullen crew. The atmosphere, props, and stage setting were excellent.

but the editing! Oh the editing! and the placing of which music where was sometimes just ridiculous and matched to close toward “made for TV drama” that it totally took away, not only the magic of Stephenie Meyer, but the hard-work that I’m sure was exerted by many people for this film.

and my last gripe: Kirsten Stewart as Bella - just plain sucked, she lacks emotion on so many levels - and also parades around smoking bongs in public. (Not a good role model for teen readers!)

The chemistry between all the characters were pretty spot on and her soundtrack is pretty great -

Regardless of my disappointment with Twilight the movie, I am hoping that eclipse and new moon get knocked out of the ballpark with both the budget, talent, and special effects! I cannot wait for all the characters of Twilight to come alive. Especially Breaking Dawn!!!!

Yay!

Okay. Where do I start? Let me first say that I love my husband, and most of the time, he’s caring, kind, and sweet. But today was the utmost mean thing he has done, in the entire existence of our eight year marriage, that teetered on the brink of pure scummy husbandly selfishness.

I’m home from a sweet trip down Holiday Lane with my four-year-old son. It was wonderful. Humongous candy cane and snowflake lights decorated the street lamps, the Union Square tree lit up my son’s face as the most prized mental picture of the years to come, and we were able to score free hot chocolate from the Ghirardelli square store (and I loooove chocolate.)

But, my husband has been the bearer of kill joy today. Instead of surprising and meeting him after work, he was off early and already home by the time my son and I arrived downtown. After refusing to meet us and telling me he would be home the rest of the day because he was tired, he decided to go out with his bestfriend and “forgot” his cellphone.

My son and I were stranded in the freezing cold darkness (okay, I’m exaggerating a little) of the Bart Station. Add to that, we had a “wonderful performance” presented by the  woman screaming “You punk a** bi***, you ain’t never gonna see yo son again!”  all across the bart station as I was scrambling all the numbers I needed to call him at. I finally caught him on his bestfriend’s number to tell him that he forgot to pick me up, then he replies “What did you want me to do, wait around for you all night?”

I hung up on him, called HIS mom, and she picked me up without hesitation.

Tonight, I want to lock and leave a note on the bedroom door:

Rely on the couch to sleep on tonight, like I rely on your mom to pick me up from the bart station.

Of course, I’m not that cold or callous to leave a silly nasty note And I’m not about to let his need to “hang out with the boys” damper the rest of my night. I’m still pissed, angry, and the phones are still shut off - but I’ll just let my temper simmer for the holidays since, regardless of the Grinch’s attempt, I’m still in the mood for this night and the holiday season to be peaceful. And on the bright side (because of this) maybe, just maybe, he’ll feel guilty enough to buy me a better present than the mechanical/computer upgrades that he’s been buying me for the last few years (last year: extra GB stick, the year before that: an Ipod.)

Wishful thinking on my behalf, I suppose. Catching my husband anywhere near a Macy’s Womens department is like waiting for reindeers to fly.

Happy Holidays to all. :)

It’s 7:45 in the morning and I am running on my first few sips of coffee.
Last night, before I fell asleep, there were a couple of things that I kept thinking of that were making my mind run a mile a minute.
I just woke up and I can’t think of any of them now.
What is up with that? I’m losing my mind. My brain is gone, it’s slowly dissipating.

Johnny, my husband, is making me read a book called “Magnificent Mind at Any Age” by Dr. Daniel Amen. He saw his show on KQED 4 at work and hustled to buy the hardcover making a special trip to our local Barnes&Nobles that same day.
(Ah B&N :)…That was a job that I loved. Since it was so many years ago I can’t remember why I quit…Oh yes. Hotdog On A Stick offered me three dollars more than I was making - which later amounted to semi-good money but went hand in hand with immortal humiliation as my then boyfriend and friends would pass by smirking and later on laughing in my face as I mashed the lemon peels for the lemonade every three hours in my yellow, blue, and red circus themed uniform.)

By the way, my husband NEVER goes shopping. It’s on the same line of “things-to-do” as “buy a monkey.” So, I was thrilled to be given the assignment to read the whole text and apply it to our daily lives. (Johnny doesn’t read, he honestly gives it a good try, but quickly loses interest - he likes audiotapes and newspapers when it comes to be being supplied important information.)

I’m at the stages of important supplements.
Omega-3’s, fish oil, krill oil, and things of that nature work wonders.
Johnny tried to spike John’s apple juice to get him the supplements ingested double time. So cute, He even decorated the entire apple juice bottle with Thomas the Train gift wrap…He really went all out.
I tried it - tastes like fishy apple juice. I’m really not sure how that’s going to work out.

As for the book, so far so good. It doesn’t just touch on the the scientific side of the brain and it’s systems. It also shows the importance of the balance between all the things of our everyday lives. The things we do, a-duh!, effect our brain. But the things we do are not in control of who we are, we must learn to control those things before they turn around and defeat and destroy us and the systems of our body altogether.

First and foremost is the importance of nurturing and understanding the science and soul of what and who we are.

I recommend this book immensely.
I can’t wait to genuinely apply it to my own humanity.
Of course, I’ll start after this cup of joe. Amen says its bad for my brain…but right now, it’s good for my grumpiness that hates to do mornings.

Take Care of yourself.

I woke up today eaves dropping on a conversation. The sentence that awoken me was this.

“They were debating about gay people’s right to children. What about the children? Isn’t it terrible for them to grow up being teased? What about the kids rights?”

Which reminded me of a time when I went to the beach with my husband’s family and  we saw a gay couple with their adopted son, all riding bicycles with helmets, and my mother-in-law and her friend said, as the family was quietly leaving the coffee shop, “That poor kid.”

OH KAY! and then I was up after that thought…Of course, since I was still wrapped in my covers, mumbling the word “idiot” under my breath, I couldn’t explain my opinion clearly on that situation to really anyone, so I am going to write about it here. Because it’s bugging me, lingering, and I think something should be said. Even if it is to no one. And so…

What is so poor about children with same sex parents? If anything, they are just as lucky to have parents who love them as the next child with heterosexual parents. If he is teased then, so what? I was teased because my father had a thick Filipino accent. I was teased for being chinky eyed and brown skinned, for being different. I was teased too, period.
I grew up just fine enough.
My point is, teasing isn’t going to kill or destroy anyone as long as there is a support system to undo the damage. And anyways, teasing has NOTHING to do with the issue.
It’s about protection, peace of mind, and equality towards personal happiness.
We all need that support system to feel safe. We all need that unconditional love to come home to. We all need a family, no matter if it is two moms or dads. Our family, no matter how twisted or perfect is still who helps make us who we are.

Back to the adopted child at the coffee shop with his fathers. Whom was, in all reality, fine and there was nothing “poor” about him. *He, first of all, was riding bikes with his parents at a gorgeous beach on a gorgeous day. (I though that was awesome) He was getting a chocolate chip muffin from a fancy coffee shop, and he had a pretty awesome bike and helmet.
Some straight parents don’t even take the time to bike with their children now, let alone help with their homework.
So what was so poor about that kid again?

And about who really are the poor kids.
What about crack babies, or babies with out homes, neglected children, or the ones on welfare? Those are really who the poor kids are.

There’s nothing poor about a child who has two parents, with two incomes, to support him.

In all honesty, I think what really needs to be taught is tolerance and acceptance. And I know that it has been already said a million times before, but because I have witnessed so much ignorance towards gay rights recently, I feel it needs to be said again.

Who is anyone to tell someone else that they Cannot love who they love or decide what we can or cannot do with our lives to make us happier and more productive people.
We can’t choose the people we love, who our parents are. We are just lucky enough to have them. If our parents are two fathers, one mother, or five…If my life partner likes to share my Laboutin heels with me…We should be happy that we have someone, rather than having no one at all.

It’s a different kind of world today, a tossed salad of different people.
If our own government chooses not to respect others for their differences, Who will?

So glad to get this off my chest.
