I’ve lived in five states since my divorce and have rented a place to live in each one, mostly with a year lease and I have not violated one. I have had the property manager try to shaft me on several, and all attempts failed. I lived in Grapevine, Texas when I moved there when the company I worked for was trying to expand. I moved in with the stipulation that if my employer decided to cease operations, I could break the lease without repercussions.  Sure enough, seven months later the jobs went dry and I was forced to move back to Colorado. Three months later, I received a letter from a lawyer stating that I owed X number of dollars for breaking the lease and damage to the apartment. As expected, it was a different property manager, they change so frequently, and the agreement I had made with the original one was null and void. Luckily, the original property manager and I had written out our agreement and it was signed by both of us as an attachment to the lease agreement. It seems her husband had also been in construction and she knew about jobs evaporating. The lawyer called me several times, called me a few names, threatened me a lot and demanded even more money or he’d see me in court. After a call to the Texas regulatory agency, I found out that the lawyer was the property manager’s husband and wasn’t licensed to practice law in Texas. The next time he called, I mentioned this to him, stated that I had recorded our phone conversations and was planning to turn to over to the Texas Attorney General. I never heard from them again.

Now I have another property manager’s lawyer calling me demanding $3,500 for breaking the lease, not giving notice of moving and payment for replacing  a carpet plus other minor damage. For one, the townhomes refused to sign another one year lease so we were on a month to month rental agreement. The carpet was thread bare but clean, I don’t know what he means by other damage. He’s supposed to be sending me documentation to prove his points. These townhomes have tried sung several other tentents and have lost every time, all for several tousands of dollars each. This lawyer doesn’t have a very good track record with lawsuits. If he produces a signed lease, it will be a forgery for we didn’t sign a renewal lease. They had posted a notice on the door giving us ten days to vacate the place. I also had taken pictures of every room before I left so I know there wasn’t any damage, except normal wear and tear.

I had a small place near brush, Colorado for two years. I gave the owner, she lived right across the street, two weeks notice, cleaned the place really great and took pictures of the ceiling hanging down in the bedroom, the leaky hot water heater and the rotten porch before I left. I also left her my forwarding address so she could return my deposit. A month later I received a letter from her lawyer demanding thousands of dollars for damages. I just copied the pictures and sent them to him with a demand for return of $350 deposit or my lawyer would contacting him. A week later I got a check in the mail, no letter, just the check. End of story.

If there is one thing I’ve learned from renting and leasing, keep every scrap of paper for at least a year. Anything agreed to must be in writing, no handshakes. Take pictures when you move in and when you move out. I’ve learned that no matter how nice the property manager is when you move in, they turn into a demon from hell when you move out with selective memory loss. The think that a call from a lawyer will have you turning over and begging for forgiveness; my advice — don’t turn into a sheep. Stand your ground, if you’re right and don’t let them threaten you into submission. If a lawyer calls, ask politely for his license number and then check it. If he won’t give it to you, that’s a point in your favor, shady lawyers don’t have a license. I’d check with your local bar association just to be sure but they won’t give you information as to past complaints but the BBB might.

Don’t let a lawyer threaten you into submission, they count on that to keep from having to show up in court. keep your paperwork and document everything and above all, don’t trust the. They are in it for the money and must answer to their investors.

You know for the first time in my life I think that I’m actually floored. On PBS around here they had a 2 hour special on how the world WILL NOT END! in 2012! They spent how much money to reassure people of something I could have told them for a dollar, fifty!

The 2012 hysteria started with a station that I used to love and now almost loathe the History Channel. They had one almost every month for a few years Docu-Dramas about the end of the world in 2012. Now what you ask your old pal Warcorpse is a docu-drama. Well unlike a documentary which films the facts regardless of the outcome and tries to be fair and impartial. Something that Michale Moore should learn if he wants to keep calling himself a documentary film maker.

Now a docu-Drama is a little diffrent it will report facts BUT will over look some other rather large facts for the purpose of entertainment and shock value. I find that the History Channel in paticular is going more and more with Docu-Dramas. Isn’t that funny from a channel that’s supposed to teach me about history? Last time I checked history dosen’t change because it’s already done.

Well onto the Mayan 2012 bullshit. Had most people even gone to wikipedia they would have found out that the Mayans didn’t have just one calender they had about seven or eleven I can’t remember which. These calenders are circular meaning they repeat and they range in length from a half a day to a few centuries. The big one the one we’re coming up on is due to eclipse in 2012 something it does once every 5,162, years (that number is what I remember so if it’s wrong don’t bother pointing that out) So the big calender will start all over again. 

Let me illustrate another way take the Christian calender in that calender it will never be November 19 2009 again will it. However in the Mayan calender it will be November 19 2009 again once it reaches that point in its rotation AGAIN! And by the way we were already on the earth the last time this thing eclipsed we were building the pyramids so we had been around for a long long time the last time it happened.

One last note on the end of the world dates.  James Randi has compiled a list of dates the world was supposed to end guess how many misses ALOT! Plus to further put your mind at ease the great builders of the pyramids had their own end of the world date scrawled in the great pyramid of Giza guess when that is! drum roll………….. 1984!!!!! Well we made it through that one and we’ll make it through this one to.

So don’t rack up the credit card bills to high becuase we’re all going to be around for a long, long time.

I’m disgusted. What’s more depressing than the economy? What’s more of a bummer than all the people losing their jobs, their homes, their hope, their fucking everything?

I’ll tell you what. Walking down to Stillwater’s infamous FORMERLY FREE Lumberjack Days celebration and seeing it barred shut. Getting a load of the massive quantities of youngsters, huddled in huge groups, loitering, bored, and bummed on every curb just OUTSIDE the chainlink fences and gates barring them from the formerly FREE TO ALL Lumberjack Days celebration. I can’t think of too many teenagers that are going to fork over $10 so that they can then fork over another $5-$6 on the hotdog they were planning on scoring while watching a few interesting acts onstage and looking for familiar faces in the fun, festive, normally packed, sometimes weird, always entertaining crowd.

Teenagers weren’t the only people turning away from the ridiculously prison-like barrage of chain-linkfencing. In case you hadn’t picked up on it, for the first time, they’re charging a $10 cover to get inside what was before, a down-home, local, fun, free, old-fashioned small town annual celebration.

Yeah so it got out of hand when Lynard Skynard played a few years back. Whatever. Bad planning.

Hell, I won’t even pay $10 to get into the State Fair and that’s pretty big-time.

All I have to say is (edit this): City of Stillwater, you just fucked all your Lumberjack Days Vendors in the ASS. Way to stick it to the little guy trying to make a buck.

Major fucking Bummer. Guess I’ll go take my usual hike in a state park - the fee for that is only $25 a YEAR (not counting the $105 fine I had to pay for forgetting to update my annual pass in time.)

I hate flies. I especially hate it when they buzz my ears. Flies ruin picnics and the diseases they carry can cause innocent people to become desperately ill.

There’s a scene in Sam Raimi’s new movie, “Drag Me To Hell,” where a beautiful young heroine is sleeping in her bed while a filthy black fly creeps all the way up inside of her nostril. It’s an unsettling scene.

What happened to one of my neighbors is even more unsettling and it was real life. Not some creepy movie. Tiny, odious villains attacked my neighbor by invading her vagina. The relentless onslaught in her most private area continued round the clock until she felt so sick she had to go to a hospital. When doctors told her that she had ovarian cancer, her life became a tortuous nightmare. I can’t think of anything more terrifying (except a doctor telling me I have prostate cancer and they want to cut my balls off).

My neighbor didn’t know what to do. Her doctors recommended chemo therapy which kills good cells as well as cancerous cells. She heard from friends that there are some good, alternative treatments available, but she also heard about scam slime (those despicable, dishonest people who prey on sick people like vultures). My neighbor chose chemo therapy and went through so much pain and nausea, she told me, “If I knew how bad chemo was going to be, I would rather have just died.”

The expensive chemo treatments kept her alive for two more years (if you believe mostly lying in bed with pain, feeling weak and sick is “being alive”). Then, sadly, she passed away.

If you never listened to anyone describe the horror of their cancer sufferings, just watch the documentary by Farah Fawcett and you will understand. You will also want to avoid the anguish of going through anything like that, if at all possible.

It’s too bad people get cancer in the first place. If they knew more about what causes cancer and what helps prevent cancer, they might be able to avoid such tragedies.

Apparently, it helps to stay away from eating refined sugar, simple carbohydrates and hydrogenated oil. The stuff cancer thrives on. If you must eat foods such as donuts, eat them in moderation. I would never travel all the way to New Orleans without enjoying deep fried beignets at Cafe Du Monde. However, I wouldn’t eat beignets everyday unless I wanted to feed a death wish.

Besides avoiding dangerous, deep fried sugar monsters, you can fortify yourself with super-foods which will heroically go to war against carcinogens which may attack your breasts, uterus, colon or prostate. Some of the greatest superheroes are garlic, carrots, cabbage and walnuts.

I don’t want terrorist cells lurking around inside of my country and I don’t want cancer cells lurking around inside of my body. After the 911 attacks, we spent millions of dollars fortifying our borders and airports from radical extremists who are hellbent on killing Americans. There is no guarantee that these efforts will keep all agents of terror outside of this country, but I like increasing the odds for survival. For similar reasons, I decided to fortify my body with super-foods to increase the odds of keeping cancer causing agents outside of my body.

The only problem is - Carrots and cabbage aren’t as yummy as donuts.

Since I enjoy eating great tasting food as well as traveling, I decided to explore the world looking for a delicious super-food recipe (something I could look forward to eating instead of just choking down like cod liver oil). First, I went to Europe hoping to find the perfect French or Italian recipe. I ran across some great recipes but nothing featuring super-foods. Thanks to the internet, my travels only took a few hours so I pressed on to India. Then I searched Asia. I continued exploring all the way around the world to Costa Rica, and down to South America, where finally, I made a great discovery. (Eat your heart out, Columbus.)

I discovered “Chilean Carrot Salad,” a common side-dish popular around Santiago, Chile. This nutritious and affordable, cancer fighting super-salad consists of grated carrots, chopped garlic, cilantro, lemon juice and canola oil.

In the spirit of Emeril Lagasse, I kicked this simple carrot salad up a notch by adding raisins, walnuts, cabbage and ginger. BAM - I ended up with a delicious salad that I regularly enjoy eating which also protects me from getting cancer. As a bonus, eating this salad for lunch instead of eating dangerous diner foods like French fries and Monte Cristo sandwiches has made it easy to lose more than a few pounds and save money.

MOUNTAIN DUDE’S KICKED UP CANCER FIGHTING CARROT SALAD:

2 cups grated carrots (about 4 medium sized carrots), 1/2 cup shredded cabbage (red cabbage is best), 3 tabl. walnut pieces, 3 tabl. raisins, 2 tabl. cilantro (finely chopped), 2 tsp. garlic (finely chopped), 2 tsp. fresh ginger (finely chopped), 2 tabl. fresh squeezed lemon juice, 1 tabl. canola oil or olive oil. Mix ingredients together in a large bowl. Makes 4 servings.

I don’t know if it’s sheer exhaustion from weed wacking, or boredom with Life (myself), or financial stress that seems to get a little more excruciating every paycheck, but I don’t feel sorry for Obama, and in fact, I do believe I’ve done a complete reversal with regard to my opinion of him. I think he’s just another asshole dressed up like a politician, flapping his lips, lying through his teeth.

I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said (something like) “I’ll keep my guns, freedom and money, you can keep the change.” That pretty much summarizes how I feel about Obama right now, as of this moment.

It’s a real bummer; you can’t help but like the guy. For once, a nice-guy president who seemed to be able to talk to the general populace as if he actually was one of them (at some point in his life.) He seemed like someone with a conscious. He appeared to have America’s best interests in mind. He had experienced hardship; I, personally, could relate to that. He wasn’t just some little prick dressed up in cotton wool his whole life, groomed to take over the family fortune. He didn’t seem to be a spoiled little smug ignoramus shit of a man, like his predecessor. And the fact that he was black (or half-black – I don’t know why we say half-black, as opposed to half-white, but anyways…) the fact that he was pretty much black, made him seem like a long-overdue miracle. Change was happening. People themselves had changed enough in just a hundred years time to elect a black man for president. That’s pretty huge.

I could list more likeable things about him; there are plenty, but mostly it was the way he talked and what he said on the campaign trail that made him such an appealing choice. He said all the right things. Silly, ignorant, gullible me. I, like all those people that crammed the Lincoln Memorial for Obama’s inauguration celebration, put all that campaign trail bullshit together in my wee little mind, and had hopes that things actually would change. For real. But they haven’t. And after a quick scanning of a random selection of articles written by what appear to be intelligent, well-informed, well-educated people, I’m pretty convinced that Obama is just a good-looking version of all the previous shit that we’ve “chosen” to represent us, as Americans.

I feel like I’ve been had. I’m tired and I’m sick of financial worries. I don’t even have it nearly as bad as some people. Compared to some people my life is a miracle right now (knock on wood). But I wake up in the middle of the night stressing about money on a regular basis. I don’t even think any more what I used to think, “…As soon as I get this thing (bill) out of the way, I can start digging myself out. Next paycheck…” I just think, “Thank god I can throw something (some little f**king miniscule peanut with a dollar sign attached to it) at this bill, this time around. At least I won’t get sent to collections…yet.” I have just enough money to throw peanuts at my bills every month. Forget about digging myself out. I’m like a f**king dumbass spectator at a zoo, standing outside the elephant exhibit throwing peanuts at my problems, trying to make them go away. And every time I throw a peanut, the f**king elephant just wants more. Voracious little f**k. And I’m not even one of those (*greedy*, *bad*) Americans that spends shitloads of money they don’t have on shitloads of unnecessary shit every time they hit the stores. I pretty much buy what I need, and splurge on a frugal treat every now and then.

So back to Obama. Are my financial troubles his fault? No. (gag; yes) Because the amount that he appears to be spending is putting me and every other American deeper into the hole. Like I said, forget about ever digging ourselves out. We’re slaves and we will be slaves for as far down the road as I can see into the future, thanks to the way the government is spending out money - money we haven’t even earned yet. Ironic; that a black man is the one sitting on the steps of the plantation, this time around. He hasn’t changed a d*mn thing, and by the looks of it, he’s just more of the same old shit. I hate the American Government. The whole thing is a lying sack of shit.

Change? F**k change. Like the bumper sticker said, keep it. It won’t ever be enough to do me or my children a damn bit of good.

The only reason I feel sorry for Obama is because I suspect he has a conscious. (unlike dickwad Bush) Sorry about my profanity…sort of.)

The thing is, there’s no president that can do an ounce of good because they have no control. They have to do what the “powers that be” want. It’s just the way it is. It’s nature. The strong bastards rule and they get what they want. Money is the muscle that runs the planet so those assholes that have the most of it, run the world, regardless of how fucked up, immoral, stupid and (make up your own word and put it HERE)  they are.

Here’s another batch of morons that I can do without

The people that think Walgreen’s is a place to do major shopping. It’s not it’s a fucking conviance store/PHARMACY! It’s a place where sick people go to get prescriptions filled and maybe get some Gatorade. Why is that every time I’m sick I’m always stuck behind some bubble assesd woman who decided to buy 24 margarita glasses. And the cashier is some 90 year old lady that’s taking five minutes to wrap each one even though the fucking things are plastic. Then usually if I’m lucky the customer will pay with a card if not they’ll ask if they can pay with a check even though there at least two signs saying we don’t accept checks! People get your major shopping done at a major store, or at least a store that’s for dishes or whatever. Walgreen’s is a store to run in and grab a few items you forgot but mostly it’s where sick pissed off people go to get mounds of drugs to get them better.

People that pay with a check - Oh my god! do these people piss me off to no end! Do these people not know that checks take for fucking ever to write! For me personally they always screw the hell out of my balance sheet because I’ve waited damn near a month before the check cleared and was taken out of my account. Now paying bills with them is one thing. Personally I don’t know why anyone doesnt do bill pay but if you don’t have a computer. But going to a store and using them irks me to no end! Folks you have this thing called a CHECK CARD!!!!!!!! IT’S A LOT FASTER!!!!!!!!!! Then some of these morons will reply “Well I’m old fashioned and I like my checks” (These old-fashioned people can be like 22 at times)  I scream back “IT’S CALLED PROGRESS! WE USED TO GET AROUND WITH THE HOARSE AND CART BUT WE DON’T DO THAT ANYMORE!”

People that blame McDonald for their massive weight gain. We all know people like this hell might even have a friend like this. They’re overweight and know it’s getting harder for them to do things or the health problems are starting to come around. Do they take personnel responsibility for it and go to the gym or take a walk or hell just eat a fucking salad NO! They end up saying it’s not my fault I can’t fit into a elevator anymore or that I can’t fit into a airplane seat It’s McDonalds, Burger Kings or Wendy’s fault. they usually say this while stuffing a Big Mac in their faces. My question to them is did anyone put a gun to your head and force you to get the three cheeseburgers. NO! I think that they put their hands on the steering wheel, drove to the Golden Arches and ordered the three Big Macs Didn’t they.

Yes, my friends there IS religion out there! The Trees are Deities with Names. The Snail Darters and the Spotted Owl  are Saints. The faith is Global Warming and Save the Rain Forests. Yes My Brothers and Sisters, there is religion out there!

The Great Priests of this religion are the scientists that sign their name to the global warming doctrine. Do not mind the fact that the majority of climatoligists say that these fluctuations in climate are do to naturally occurring phenomenons and cyclical changes in the activity of the sun… etc. NO! do not listen to the blasphemers!

Do not listen to the fact that the earth has cooled since 2001, the cooling is only proof that the earth becoming warmer. What? This is not logical? Forget the logic! You must have FAITH my brethren!

Man is destroying the climate with greenhouse gasses. This we know. We know this because Humans have increased the the greenhouse gas levels by a whopping .009%! Where did this information come from? Well from the Bishop Al Gore of course.

There is religion out there. I jut hope I do not fart. Thus creating more greenhouse gases and probably going to Green Hell (where I am talked to by Barbra Streisand, and Michael Moore tries to slip me the tongue).

You know I can’t believe how lazy most people have gotten. What’s even more amazing is the fact that they can come up with thousands of excuses as to justify spending more time on the couch! Even the people that supossedly have “healthy lifestyles” are still lazy as hell. On that note how in the hell can you have a healthy lifestyle and eat everything OUT OF A BOX!

People that say that they don’t have time to cook are well just full of it! They are everyone has time to cook, they don’t because they want to be lazy. Hey that’s fine with me just admit it and we can move on. That’ll never happen because these people are nothing if not masters of excuses. At work one time I got a person I work with to a lovely shade of vermilion just by calmly proving and re-proving to her every time that yes she did in fact have time to cook.

I’ll prove it here to! Let’s take a average American family Husband Wife and let’s say three kids. The kids are Billy 12, Jamie 10 and Kerry 7 just for the sake of argument oh and both of the parents work. Let’s also say that each of the three kids are involved with three extracurricular activities each. Because the parents have that annoying trend of making sure that their kids experience everything. Even though the child has never once expressed ANY interest in any of the activities.

Now through the week I’ll stipulate that yes there really isn’t enough time to cook breakfast. Fourtunatly Cheerios are pretty healthy. On the weekends however you should always have time for a real breakfast.

So let’s say that the dad starts work at seven in the morning and works till three so he can be home when the kids get home Mom on the other hand works from 9 to 6. So the kids trottle off to school and the school day ends. However Billy has little league right after school and the other two come home on the bus. At 4 Jamie has dance class and at 4:30 Kerry has karate. Then Dad has to rush over to the school and get Billy so he can be at Piano class at 5:00. Then it’s back to pick up Jamie and Kerry and take both of them to pottery class. Mom picks up Billy and Dad gets high on terracotta fumes. The family is back with each other at I’ll say 6:30. Pretty busy day right. Now one of them we’ll either open up a box for dinner or stop at KFC or Boston Market or at worst Burger King. When asked why didn’t they cook they’ll say we didn’t have time. By the schedule you’d think they were right well their not!

There’s at least two to three opportunities to cook something far healthier than out of a box. First off the morning Mom could get up and put something like a roast or a chicken in a slow cooker for the day and it’d be ready by the time you got home. Don’t worry a slow cooker is designed to be left on even when your not there. Another great thing to make is Slow-Cooker Chili. Then with just a few vegetables that would take about 10 minutes they’d have dinner at 6:40 OR when they all get back do something that every family should do and that’s make dinner together. Billy Jamie and Kerry can each do a job in the kitchen. If you do that most meals can be done in 30 minutes. And their eating a fresh healthy meal at seven. 2 hours to digest and its off to bed at nine. My how hard was that.
